JDSU manufactures air-cooled argon-ion and helium-neon lasers in a dedicated manufacturing facility for gas lasers, continuing its heritage of setting industry standards for gas laser performance and reliability. With the need to clean optics in the field eliminated,  laser life today is measured in years, not weeks or months.

JDSU offers continuous-wave (CW) and pulsed diode-pumped solid-state (DPSS) lasers. The CW DPSS lasers have an improved cavity design for longer lifetime and reliability. The compact packages are easy to operate and integrate, and the controller interfaces provide several control functions including interlock and diagnostics via transistor-to-transistor logic and analog signals.

The fronteer of applications of ultrashort pulse lasers is currently set at the Femtosecond regime, that allow damage free machining of any material. The pulse duration threshold between damage free and processes with residual thermal damage lies between 1 and 50 picoseconds, depending on material characteristics. Pulse duration below 400 femtoseconds ensure the operation in the damage free region.

Picosecond lasers proposed and integrated by Laserpoint are designed for industrial microprocessing; they offer a new level of precision and versatility. The procuct series - integrated into a work station - can ablate (micromill) any material without thermal side effects, without force onto the work piece and with high precision (µm-range lateral, about 10 nm depth control).

The PLECTER industrial picosecond laser is a 80MHz quasi-CW laser offering a high level of power and beam pointing stability. The laser offers more than 10W of TEM00 power at 1064nm or 5W at 532nm; partial conversion to SHG can be specified.

KIMMON is manufacturing HeCd lasers at 221, 325 e 442 nm, with power from 2 to 180 milliwatt, TM00 and Multimode. The standard of production are high since most of these lasers is used in production lines, average life 4500-6000 hours depending on the models.
